New Zealand Hino
This was one of several appliances built on Hino chassis for the New Zealand Fire Service for rural fire brigades. This 1986 Hino FF173 was completed by Mills Tui and served only two NZFS brigades - Gore and Mossburn where it spent most of its operational life. These appliances are being removed from the NZFS and while some have been donated overseas, most are being snapped up by rural fire. Seen just emerged from the paint shop with new rural fire colours and markings, this is one of a pair purchased by the Waitaki District Council and will be allocated to the Kakanui rural fire party. It was photographed in October 2013.
