Oh the good old ice cream truck, these vehicles were to be the future of salvage but they turned to be a bit of a disaster. There were two of these with London and two with Liverpool but the body work was too heavy for the chassis, London used them for only 18 months then sold theirs to Singapore. They were supposed to be able to carry a crew of six but they used to have only four and the amount of gear that they should have carried was reduced by over half because of the weight. As a consequence the brakes faded and the acceleration was very slow, there was also problems with the design of the stowage of ladders and equipment. Apart from all that they were well built.

I think this might be JYE995N not 999. See

Another example of a seriously under spec fire appliance. Take an 8 ton bus chassis and expect it to operate at a 10 (or perhaps even 12 ton?) gross weight!
