1941 Dennis at LFB Museum

During a visit to the London Fire Brigade Museum in 2010, I photographed this 1941 "Big 4 Dennis Braidwood" pump, which is part of the display within the museum.

I did not realize that London was still buying Braidwood style pumps as late as 1941, as they were already buying fully enclosed pumping appliances several years earlier.

ECG272 - To quote another comment on this site -"it was never an active London LCC Fire Brigade appliance, rather it was Pump Escape 1 for the City Of Winchester Fire Brigade, then NFS, then Hampshire Fire Brigade before disposal. During NFS days it stayed within the city, never going to regions beyond as it was a dedicated appliance which many other cities had." Ended up in the London Fire Brigade museum Southwark Bridge Rd now long closed.
