Bedford R/Papworth RT Cambridge 115 CER

1977 Cambridge a unique 4x4 appliance, bodied by Papworth Industries, a firm local to Cambridge. It was started as a sheltered factory for disabled people and came later to do bodywork for post office telephones company. This was one of very few fire appliances though they are alleged to have built Green Goddesses. Papworth was taken over by AssetCo and is now closed, the Papworth Everard site abandoned.

Correct they did build Green Goddesses along with other company's.

My Dad was a fireman at papworth everard in 1960s to 1970s
