They say that Land Rover's go anywhere, well this ex Gwynedd appliance has found her way to RAF Leeming.
Looking at the tax disk, this Rover was on the road up until 12 months ago.
Thanks to my friend Bob Frizzle for the picture.

Nice execution by Carmichael. This looks like a real, somewhat scaled-down, custom fire pump appliance - unlike some of the other forward-control Land-Rovers, which had the very ugly standard factory cab.

1 of 8 built, unless you know otherwise, Gwynedd had 5 of them, 2 built on a Series 2a chassis the other 3 built on Series 3 chassis. 2 of the remaining 3 were at car plants, Leyland and Rover, any information on these 2 would be great, I forgot to say that I am the owner of PEY239S.

I was told by some Gwynedd lads they used to roll rather a lot.

It actually looks like it would roll with the narrow wheelbase , bet it isn't as bad taking the gae into consideration as the horrible in every way bremachs they have now in Wales.

Unfortunately all 4X4 designs tend to have a higher center of gravity, because of their need for increased ground clearance, and this leads to less than ideal roadholding.

This problem is often exacerbated by these kinds of off-road units being fitted with larger water tanks, which also tend to push up the CG and interfere with competent road handling.

Although some newer generations of 4X4 trucks are much better than these older designs, it is still true that these types of trucks are five times more likely to get into traffic accidents, and should be driven accordingly!
