These photos were taken in 2010 while visiting Kecskemet, Hungary. Lic. plate KPX 133 is a 2007 Renault Saurus pumper with 2400 litre pump,4000 litre water tank and 400 litre foam tank.

Saurus is a highly respected Finnish special purpose vehicle firm, which produces a wide range of fire trucks and owns Vema, whose aerials include four axle platform trucks up to 70 meters!

This unit is a version of their standard medium duty multipurpose pumper, which is most often built on this Renault Midlum chassis. Their heavy pumper - with an Esteri pump up to 4500 LPM - is usually built on a Scania 18 ton chassis.

The firm exports to numerous countries, as well as Hungary of course.

The Hungarian fire services source their trucks from many different countries when it comes to both chassis and bodywork, and their pumpers often tend to have relatively large water tanks to help compensate for limited hydrant availability in many areas...
