Fire Engines Photos

Great picture Bob, we have only had all 3 of our engines out together 3 times this year. The leyland suffered from a cracked head on route back from woodcote rally this was her first outing since being out back together. 2 pumps an a TL we have a proper vintage line up!

Speaking of vintage, is this excellent Leyland pump from around 1937? Its quite amazing how many brewery fire appliances are still preserved. Was it something special in the air, or were they just never too busy to become completely worn out?

This appliance was purchased by me in 1978/9 in very poor condition and for various reasons has taken a very long time to get back on the road. It is still not completed but we hope to have it done by next season. I will post a couple of photos from when I bought it.

I have inadvertently acquired a photocopy of a photo of which I believe is your appliance, pictured at Cape Hill around the 1930s along with the crew of the time. If you wish I can email you a copy of the pic.

Hi I looked up cape hill brewery pump I used to go on ralleys with Dave Burley we were the fire engine preservation group based in the midlands the pump; tl and a morris hose reel tender which came from the morris factory I often wonder what happened to it nice to see photo thanks Anton Bolton.
