The SW2400 is the German DIN standard for a hoselayer, and carries preconnected flaked 75mm hoses. So far, I do not know of any German fire service which has adopted anything larger than 75mm hose ("B" hose), although 100, 110, 125 and 150 mm hoses are showing up in other European countries.

The Dutch high volume floating pump and hose pod system comes with 150 mm hose, and a few of these have been bought by German cities, but these seem to be mainly being acquired to move flood water rather than for firefighting.

Given the universal appeal of LDH here in the US, I wonder if we will see more hose layers using LDH in Germany? The BSPP in Paris has already adopted 110 mm hose for high volume water relaying at major incidents some years ago, and some of the Dutch pods have made it across the North Sea.

Berlin has hose layers assigned to eight of their volunteer fire stations, and they were called out a total of 138 times in 2019.

The practice of locating hose layers at volunteer stations is not unusual, as water relaying is often delegated to volunteers, and some companies are considered specialists.
