Does the RW2 designation mean that this was bought from a German fire service?

No it was brand new but to the German Spec for a RW2 ie a medium Rescue Tender, same as the Mercedes Water Tender's they were new to Gran Canaria but to the geman TLF 16 specs.(Least that's what I was told at the time).

Thanks Chris - I was in Madrid recently and it seems the Spanish fire services tend to follow German practice a lot, especially when it comes to apparatus soecifications and operational SOPs.
