A Magirus Deutz 130D9/Magirus TLF8 of the Community Adendorf's Volunteer Fire Brigade Adendorf seen at the Luneburg Area Fire Brigade's "Sports Day" in 2000
This is a LF8. The LF had the longer nine-person crew cab and an 800 liter tank. The TLF had a close-coupled six man crew cab and a 2400 liter tank. Both had 1600 LPM rated pumps (hence the "16" designation) and were a national DIN specification to be found everywhere in West Germany.
They normally responded together to a structure fire, with the TLF first due, along with an Einsatzleitung unit (command car) and a Drehleiter (TL) - a total of 19 members, and some departments also automatically included an ambulance as well.
The DIN specifications for German firetrucks havemore recently been significantly upgraded, not least to include a very significant rescue and extrication capability.
