Front wheel drive means you can have a nice low floor and a walk-in rear body without making the unit too high. Each rear wheel is independently attached, so no rear axles...

I do remember seeing a similar 6X2 front wheel drive fire service ICU in Europe, but I can't remember which fire service was operating it.
