How can they carry 14 tons of water on a truck with a total gross weight capacity of only 18 tons? The chassis and tank itself must surely weigh at least six tons or more.

18 tons is the highest total permitted weight for a two-axle truck, and most Belgian water tankers with 18 ton gross weights such as Mercedes, DAF, Scania and Volvo carry 8000 liters.

Even three axle water tankers are usually rated for a maximum of only 12000 or 13000 liters - something looks a little odd here.

Editor : Rob, I've received the wrong information. Found out that the tank have a maximum tank of 11000 liters. Thank you for correcting.

You are very welcome.

But even at 11000 liters, I would not like to try to drive this two-axle tanker very far or very fast. It has a small footprint, s short wheelbase and a very high center of gravity - which would suggest it will be very inclined to tip over unless driven very gently around corners in the road.
