This never served in London, it's a merseyside ex bank hall appliance that has been preserved as a London appliance

It was Dennis/Camiva demonstrator. Served with Merseyside FB at C3 Canning Place, C1 Bankhall. It is preserved in livery of LFB as E463 Shadbrook TL as it was used on Londons Burning, this was the TL used in "Recall's" funeral.

No Rob. Staffordshire had one on the run at Hanley E783MRE, Devon had F650JFJ which did the rounds at Barnstaple, Greenbank and Illfracombe.
Almost forgot, North Yorkshire had K667BPY at York on a Scania P93ML-250 chassis with Bedwas bodywork.

This one was bought by Merseyside to replace C3-Tango, Canning Place's A54 KHC Dennis DFD133 with the short lived XRL30 Ladder which was Merryweather's attempt to re-enter the UK ladder market.

This appliance also had a cage mounted at the ladder head, it was severely damaged in a contretamps with a "Fareway" Leyland Olympian double decker rear in Central Liverpool. Widely seen as a fairly underpowered appliance.

I heard that BSPP took the cages off their first Camiva TTL ladders with cages, without the assistance of any double deck buses!
The reason? Apparently, the leveling system did not work properly and - although this was not actually dangerous - it did make the job a lot harder, especially if it involved a rescue. As a result, the brigade switched to Magirus and Metz ladders, and still operate a lot of units without cages, as many of today’s officers remember those days and still distrust them!
