My bench Was behind the 'Green Mk 1 Transit van. right next to the Stores counter. Joe Wheeler and Micky Cooper worked in the stores. "Great days"

This all looks a lot cleaner and more organized than the FDNY workshops in Queens, which I visited a few times when I lived in New York.

LAMBERTH CENTRAL REPAIR WORKSHOP, was a brilliant purpose built facility. There was a 'Main vehicle repair workshop. A full Machine Shop. A Body Shop. Paint Shop. Stores. Hose repair Shop. Blacksmiths Shop. River boat section. Canteen. Deep water well. There really wasn't anything that the workshop could not do.
