The 8000liter two-axle tankers have been around a long time in Belgium. They were originally issued by the Home Office to add protection in urban areas without adequate hydrants, and are intended to support standard pumpers at structure fires - hence no 4X4 chassis.
The early chassis were Steyr and Renault. Now they are well into being replaced, and quite a few of the new ones are Volvos. The 3000 LPM pump and monitor are new specification items - the older trucks are 2000 LPM.
