Is the thinking that with a CAFS system there is no need to have a high pressure pump? Can you actually use a CAFS system with a high pressure pump, when compressor pressures are typically a lot lower than high pressure pumps' water pressures?

Time will tell Rob if this concept will work. This regional Fire brigade is the first to have this combination. Other Fire brigades still rely on their high and low pressure pumps (with or with out CAFS)

Most US fire pumpers no longer have high pressure circuitry on their pumps, as "booster lines" have become out of favor and have largely diappeared, but increasing numbers do have CAFS installations.

In Germany, CAFS lines with either 45MM or 52MM attack hose are becoming very commonplace, and seem to be preferred to the old-fashioned 23MM high-pressure reels for more and more first attack deployments.

Perhaps the lighter weight and more rapid fire extinguishing performance of the small-diameter flat hoses will gradually displace the "first-aid" hose reel in Europe, just as it has done here. What we are looking at here may be part of a new trend.

Hi Marcel:

Do you have any updates on how this concept is being received, now that this unit has been operational for a few years?
