Picture shows a Scania P280 / Emergency one WRL/ET which is one of 3 of the final ever order from Lothian and Borders FRS for appliances, as from the 1st of April 2013 they become part of the Scottish FRS. Note they are labelled for the new service and that no badge has as yet been applied to them.

Where will these be allocated?
Also, will the new SFRS ultimately decide on a common chassis (Volvo/Scania/other) and coach builder (emergency one/JDC/other) for the whole country for future new builds?

Finally, could we see appliances moved around the country eg ex Grampian to Fife, ex L&B to Central etc after 1 April?

2 of the 3 new appliances are going to Tollcross and McDonald Road to replace the 2nd machines at those stations. Would expect the day crewed / retained staion at Penicuik would then get either the 05 from Tollcross or the 06 from McDonald Road to replace their W reg series 4 Scania.
