This 1986 N1317 Ford was originally converted by Pleasant Point Engineering into a rural fire tanker for the South Canterbury Rural Fire District and was based at Waimate and then as a relief tanker. It was subsequently converted into a tail-lift vehicle that is utilised to carry bulk fire retardant material. A replacement for this vehicle is currently being built and this truck will then be disposed of. It was photographed in late 2012.
