A standard specification German DIN LF 16 (1600 LPM pump)from the late seventies or eighties. The 1017 Mercedes chassis with tilting six or nine man crew cab was very popular at the time, and it was the first forward control Mercedes to achieve widespread acceptance as a fire pumper.

The 1224 version, in a custom low-profile cab configuration, was also destined to become the World's first rescue pump, designed for the specific requirements of the Berlin Feuerwehr. It too is pictured on this site....
