This generation were the last fully integrated series of Magirus fire engines which had the manufacturer's own engine, chassis, cab, ladder and bodywork, as well as the pumps on those trucks which had pumps.
At the time they were unique in Europe, but their merger into IVECO resulted in their custom chassis and cabs disappearing along with their much loved air cooled diesel engines, all to be replaced by what many considered to be markedly inferior updates from various other IVECO divisions...
