Tony: my hometown, Darlington, had an F12, like so many other British brigades in the 50s and 60s. One thing I really wondered about on our F12 was that the steering wheel was not lined up with the driver's seat, but offset quite a few inches to the side.

Was this noticeable when you drove this kind of machine, or did everyone just get used to it? It always seemed to me to be a rather careless bit of design on a vehicle which seemed otherwise to both very practical and handsome to behold.

The offset steering wheel was a Dennis thing not just your brigade you'll be pleased to know

Glenn - I guessed that no Brigade would ask for this feature, because it makes no sense. But I do wonder why Dennis did this, when so many other elements of their designs were so well executed.
