I have never seen an equivalent unit here in the US - what kind of equipment does it carry?

Nice looking machine. Being for rail incidents what gear does it carry for it.

This vehicle is about to be replaced, two identical 7.25 tonne Mitsubishi Canters with road/rail capability have been delivered, one for Avon at Avonmouth and the other for South Wales at Maindee. A picture and more details are on the Avon Fire and Rescue web site.

Andy: The Canter is a great little truck, but your point is well taken. Appliances seem generally to have become bigger over the years, as their capabilities have increased and more and more equipment has been added.

I have to wonder how a Canter's payload compares to Stuttgart's enormous Mercedes Actros - picture 42113?
