Avon Scania Major Rescue Tender

For many years Avon Fire and Rescue Service operated Major Rescue Tenders equipped with recovery vehicle style booms. The last such appliance that saw service was this 1989 Scania 113 series 3. I believe the booms were made by Wreckers International.
At the time the photo was taken (early 90’s I think) the appliance was operational from Patchway fire station in Bristol, although it also spent several years at Avonmouth.

Yes, booms were Wreckers International.
Went on the run at Patchway 17/12/1990. Moved to Avonmouth in 1997 where it stayed until disposal to First Bus (re-registered IIL 2490) in 2004.

Hi Andy! The first 2 digit on the right side, is the size of the engine, in case 11 litre.The last digit is for the series, in this case 3.
