I saw this at Amberley too! Restoration coming along very well, inside and out. The engine sounded great!

Sorry Stuart, this 1960 Bedford J5/HCB was new to Lancing back in 1960 and remained as 1st pump on the station(old&new)until 1972, she then went as our 2nd appliance on the arrival of our 1972 Dennis'D'Series WPO13K.The Bedford remained as 2nd pump until 1977 and then went to Horsham as a training vehicle for a very short period before finally going out of service and into private ownership.
I also took several pictures of this one and as I actually drove it many times in anger whilst in service, the lads(present owners)asked would I like a go at driving it again, I of course declined because once I'd got behind that wheel again there would have been no stopping me and by now it would be back in Lancing-its old home, well mine that is.Pete.

Pete, the guys let me have a sit in the drivers seat too, what a tight squeeze climbing in from the back. As we don't often see inside cab views, I'm going to add a picture!
