Airfield crash tender 6 Liverpool Fire Brigade

Taken just before 1974 amalgamation with Merseyside, at Speke Airport Liverpool. This ACT is part of the municipal fire service. I cannot recall if it is a Thornycroft Nubian Carmichael or a Dennis.

Liverpool ran Thornycroft Nubians KKD685D and MKD901F

From today's research the correct registration of the KKD was KKD685E not D as I have found a photo elsewhere. I think the one in my photo here might be MKD.

To confirm, this one is MKD 901F, it later went to Wellesbourne Mountford airfield in Warwickshire.
The other Thornycroft was numbered 2.

This vehicle is a THORNYCROFT NUBIAN MAJOR, one of two which were on the run at LIVERPOOL AIRPORT from about 1967 to 1982. LV6 & LV2 one station at THE BARN (New runway site) other at BANKS ROAD FIRE STATION (Garston) AIRPORT ANNEX.
