No...Simon....this is a main steam pump.....I know where it is going now but am not able to make public just yet.....but it will be a suprise

The big surprise is the re-introduction of steam pumps, or is it a steam generation system, such as used to be installed on some ships?

Main Steam! I do hope you meant to put 'mainstream', Barrie! I'd hate to think the good folk of Cheshire were once again being served by steam-powered fire engines, cos I really believed this Merc was a diesel! Unless that's the big surprise . . .

Yes Yelp it was a typo.......but we do have a steam pump !!!! its an 1876 Shand Mason which has been a little 'poorly' for the last 10 months or so.....happy days..we are on the cusp of receiving some funding which will get some repairs done and with a bit of luck, the old engine should be back on the run before the end of the summer.

Still no answer about pump and tank capacity. I am guessing it can handle a 2000 LPM pump, and the water tank is likely to be around 1,000 litres, as these have an eight ton gross weight and are typically limited by size and weight to this lower capacity.

Ed: no longer a pump of course.
