480 hp 6 cylinder engine with top speed of 148 km/h. The top mount canon has a foam throw of 65 metres powered by a 5 cyl 9 lt engine.
Six person crew with the Situation Commander seated at the water canon control center of cab.

I hope (but doubt) that it has tires that are rated for this kind of speed and weight, and brakes that will stop it within 65 meters of the fire. Seriously, I always thought the key design criterion for airport crash trucks was acceleration, which implies much lower gearing, to get moving quickly.

Hi Rob!Both the tires and the brakes are indeed rated for speed and weight!There are a lot of Fire-Crash Trucks built on Scania chassis in Sweden.They are in use by Swedavia (Swedish Airport Authority) both with bodys from Sala Kaross, with name Swedecat, and now Buffalo.Thats ´cos Sala is the importer of equipment from Rosenbauer.
