Dennis F2 former Durban Fire dept
Hi,
I am currently busy restoring this appliance.
I believe it to be an Ex Durban Fire Department (South Africa) vehicle that was bought by Pannar Seeds in Greytown and used as their works appliance for many years. It has been standing in my yard for almost 3 years waiting restoration
Durban Fire Dept have an identical machine being restored in their Brigade Workshops.
Chasis number stamped on manufacturers plate : 4232 - F2
I have all parts and actually drove the vehicle to my home from Pinetown where the vehicle stood under cover for over a year.

Hi I have checked my data and it is correct 4232 WPO 41037 300gallon water tank and 35ft Ladder. Tozer Kemsley & Millburn where the importers. Have you any Idea when it went t Greytown?

Records in my possession show 3 F2s delivered to Durban
4232 on 13/7/1956
4235 on 4/7/1956
4259 on 4/9/1957

Barrie, Wayne, and of course, Keith. I don't even pretend to understand how this has happened, but I've clearly made a mistake in thinking there were only two. All I can do is apologise to you all, and I'll now amend the system at this end. Barrie: Could I just check 4259 please, as it's shown as an F15 for Damascus !

Thank you very much for the info. The one in the photo is chassis 4232. We also have an open cab F2 at our brigade workshop that I will confirm the chassis number. I will try and find out when it was sold to Pannar Seeds. They donated it back to me for preservation. Looks like we still have all three of the original vehicles purchased.

Having checked this against the Dennis database, the chassis number is shown as 4235, and is one of two F2 appliances that Durban had, the other one being 4359 which followed 12 months later.
