Berlin has 35 full time stations and 54 additional fire company firehouses staffed exclusively by unpaid volunteers. Although many of these are in outlying suburban communities, there are several in inner districts too - and a few are combined with full time stations.
For many years Berlin has had a fleet of fire trucks which have been dominated by MAN chassis vehicles, including pumpers, aerials and most of the extensive collection of specials.
