East Riding Bedford WrT NWF 563Seen here when in the hand of the Humberside Voluntary Fire Service (HVFS) NWF 563, I believe served at Bridlington.
The HVFS were located at Oxgoddess Airfield, Paull near Hull where they also operated a converted BMC ambulance as a Control Unit and a Land Rover as a Rapid Intervention Vehicle.
Following the closure of the airfield which was home to Hull Aero Club and base to Bristow Helicopters, the HVFS then became the Humberside Auxiliary Emergency Service and relocated to the Emergency Planning Centre At Wawne, near Hull.
The appliance was then repainted and when it was replaced, it was purchased by the Pennine Drag Racing Club for their race track at Melbourne near Pocklington. It served there for a number of years before being replace by an ex Hampshire Dennis which remains there to this day.
The Bedford was then handed over to a local enthusiast who was to restore it and as far as I know, there it remains...
