1964 Land Rover Series IIA LWB Mumford L4P

Although looking like a Carmichael Redwing FT5, this was one of a batch of 4 appliances, 2 X L4P & 2 X RT, ordered by Staffordshire Fire Brigade and built by W.Mumford's coachbuilder's of Plymouth, ERF 725B served at Leek sold out of service to the CEGB serving at Castle Donnington and then Ratcliffe on Soar Power Stations.
Now under restoration after been blue and stripped of all fire equipment.

I did not know that Mumfords did anything other than some Plymouth city appliances, you learn something new everyday.

They also did the Gloucester Bedford TK Emergency Tender 916 DFH and Exeter's Bedford TK Emergency Tender AFJ333B.

Something else I did not know, thanks Andrew.

Andrew,
Are you sure that 916 DFH was Mumford bodied? I always thought it was a Dennis body.

picture 1788 is the same vehicle pre restoration in blue showing the number allocated in 1996 by DVLA due to the appliance not having been registered for road use whilst in service with the CEGB.
Thanks to the help of fellow enthusiasts providing evidence. I have been successful in regaining its original number ERF 725B from the DVLA.

Positive. Have seen a photograph of it and was informed that it was Mumfords.

My Gloucestershire expert tells me that the Gloucester city ET had a Dennis body.
