It is an Oshkosh M series of the US Airforce might have been based at RAF Mildenhall or Lakenheath

The ARFF vehicle is a USAF P-4. In the early 1970s the USAF purchased over 500 of these trucks.
The civilian vehicle is called an Oshkosh T-1500.
This truck was also sold to the US Navy (P-4A) and the Australian Air Force.

Indeed a P4. I worked with them at RAF Sculthorpe in the mid seventies. Frankly they were pigs, slow and cumbersome. Their only saving grace was the capacity of AFFF which allowed a fast knock down.

We had one at RAF Woodbridge, too. I was there 1972-74. In fact, I was crew chief on one of them that wore #4 on the side. What are the odds I'm looking at my old ride? That would be kinda freaky.

From the angle of this picture it sort of looks like a O 11 A that was around in the 60's when I was in.

Drove the P-4 in '83 at RAF Mildenhall...clanged and banged as if falling apart. Good memories.

I drove a P4 to Duxford in 1986 from RAF Bentwaters. I don’t have any pictures, but, do you remember if it was a black and white guys? I just happened by this post by chance. lol
