New Zealand Hino - NO157
This is one of 18 identical rural tankers that were built for the NZ Defence Forces by Mills Tui on Hino GT11-18 chassis between 1988 & 1989. They were allocated to various Army & Air Force establishments around the country. Most received a midlife refurbishment by SPEL Engineering including pump replacements. A number of differential failures & a lack of spare parts has seen several withdrawn from service while a number have also been sold to various rural fire parties. This example originally served at the Linton Army Camp but after refurbishment was reallocated to the Burnham Army Camp. It is shown while on loan to the NZ Fire Service & based at Rangiora.
