This has to be one of the most attractive looking appliances in the world!!

Very nicely executed, and all the better by being from the era of solid red livery with lots of shiny chrome! BUT - like most R and S series Bedfords, the front doors are sacrificed.

I never got around to understanding why an emergency vehicle like a fire engine would be improved by having only two doors. One would think it was only common sense to give each crew member his own door, to ensure quick access and egress.

This would seem to me to be particularly important for both the driver and OIC, based on the jobs they had to do.
