More Berks and Reading (1965)

I saw this Royal Baerks and Reading "A" type WrT FRX 323 just as it was retired from Newbury in 1965. "A" type water tenders had no main pump but carried a portable pump on the rear platform, normally kept coupled to the main 400g water tank. Chassis is a Commer with 6 Cylinder 109 bhp engine and bodywork again by HCB. This was one of the first "modern" appliances introduced to replace WW2 equipment.

Royce, Please keep these photos coming, what memories of riding this when it became a reserve. Bodywork by Vincents of Reading I believe.

Can anyone identify the van on the right?

Looks like a Fordson 10 cwt, or possibly a Morris Commercial of the type used by the GPO.

Andrew,
It was a Morris use as a P/Carrier with wooden slatted side seats, not very comfortable.

Many thanks Alan.
