Fire Engines Photos

Wonderful memories here Andy, went to hundreds of shouts on these machines! This was taken just before E120 FCJ received it's new dome type strobe lights. The booms on the HP were later transfered onto the Volvo chassis which later moved to Bromsgrove when the station was upgraded from Day Crewing to Wholetime Shift, it's still on the run now, although a CARP has been in the brigade for a couple of years and not replaced the old Volvo yet! The SS' were lovely machines, classic Perkins 640 with Alinson auto gearbox. E170 was the workhorse and was always a bit smokey, happy memories during these dark days for me. Thanks Andy

Matt, Im glad it is a bringer of good memories for you. This was the last time a visited Redditch station as I posted the 'Watch photo's I had taken, when they had been developed on 10x8 pics. I was gutted as the retained crew who were on station that evening posed fore a picture with the old 'Gibraltar' Dennis, and on developing, the x2 pics I had taken were 'not the best'. I think I gave them to the lads anyway, but now cant find the negatives!!
