Compared to the Iveco light pumps created for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service this one is quite easy to the eye!

They're quite attractive really compared to that ghastly Renault that used to be at Ruthin and then Llangollen, N21 DJC.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. Very tall and narrow leading to a dubious cornering ability though. Once saw N21DJC on blues and twos by Bridge End Llangollen, it certainly had a turn of speed.

i wouldn't feel happy going on the rough in one of these , they are very top heavy and very narrow which makes them look unsafe, and sad to say they are indeed very unattractive , sorry but the pinz are way better

Pinz were never a Swan, but they certainly are miles ahead in off road capability than these raggy dolls.

No problem being ugly if you are good at your job - but these were not.

They were a cheap but under-engineered adaptation of an Iveco chassis, and downright dangerous.

They were probably bought because they were so much less expensive than a real off road appliance like a Unimog, but many fire services got rid of them very quickly because they were a death trap...

Even the Italian VdF (National Fire Service) abandoned them!

It was actually 1 of these and 2 Pinz that rolled on Horseshoe Pass. North Wales bought the M reg Pinz that was new to Strathclyde for parts. I believe the 2 R reg Pinz were written off by insurance and bought back by North Wales for repair. They used Nivara L4Vs with fogging units after the rollovers.
