A proper fire engine, purchased originally by the City & County of Kingston Upon Hull Fire Brigade as a Foam Tender, it carried the foam in drums which were on shelves in the back. Following conversion to an ET it was stationed at both Hull Central & Hull North stations - one of the last incidents it attended was the tragic Lockington rail crash near Beverley in which 7 people lost their lives. Ironically the same rail crash was the first incident that the Fulton & Wylie Dennis which superseded this vehicle attended. As a bit of a spooky aside... when HF&RS went from ET's to the MAN RSU's, the first one went into service at Scunthorpe and it's first incident was also a rail crash!

Martin, what a beautiful photo of a wonderful machine. Thank you for sharing it with us. My favourite Kingston-upon-Hull fire-engine
