Another piece of superb design....3 steps to climb to enter the cab. Compare this to aerials from 40 years ago (See Picure #1614 ) where you stepped from the cab straight to the ground. Let's hope someone from Darlington will give their operational experience of this machine

Barry - don't hold your breath. I grew up in Darlington and this station only gets a handful of shouts for a TL/ALP. Despite this, in the late sixties, they had both a Leyland Firemaster Magirus TL and an ERF Simon Snorkel on the run. Only problem, one man was assigned to drive both of them, as well as the third due WT!
