Did you photograpgh the Durham Appliance too?

Unusual to see a "deck gun" (roof monitor) on a UK appliance. These are almost universal here in the US, and very handy when large wooden structures are heavily involved, which is quite common, but I can't quite figure out why one would be installed on a pump in Sunderland. Did it ever get used?
Anyone in the know?

Yep, I agree with Rob that it is rare to see the deck on the turret. It makes it nearly the same as the Hong Kong FSD Dennis F with a turret on the deck.

I do have a photo of the Durham pump but need to scan it..will do so this weekend..
I don't know why Tyne and Wear had roof monitors on the 1970s Dennis appliances..I think it is something Newcastle and Gateshead Brigade introduced before Tyne and Wear was formed but couldn't swear to that and I never saw one used. Certainly they did not appear on the appliances introduced in the 1980s.
