Vintage Hong Kong Dennis ladder 1940 back

Rear view of the Dennis on diplay at the " 1881 Heritage " site on Hong Kong mainland. The building to the right of the appliance is the original fire station of 1881 , but its now an expensive menswear shop . Photo take November 2nd 2010.

Hi Graham, this is a Dennis/ Merryweather 100ft Mechanically Operated Turntable Ladder. It looks very much like the 'Home Office' pattern vehicles which were issued to the National Fire Service throughout the UK during WWII. I would imagine it was shipped out to Hong Kong soon after the war, but someone else might have more information on that point.
