Two Old Friends Reunited after 57 yearsLP 8389 on the left is the famous 'JEZEBEL' the 1916 Dennis 'D' Series, new to London Fire Brigade where it served until 1932 at Vauxhall and Rotherhithe stations. It was then purchased by the Warrington soap manufacturers Joseph Crosfield and was used by their works fire brigade until 1955 when she was replaced by a brand new Dennis F1 pump NED 146.
NED is turn served Crosfields well until 1977 when the works brigade was disbanded and eventually was gifted to Cheshire F&RS Historical Society who restored her.
JEZ in turn was gifted by Crosfields to the London College of Science and is still looked after by the Motor Club run by the students.
In September 2011, JEZ was brought up to Manchester to transport the happy couple in a local wedding and was accommodated for the weekend at Rochdale Fire Museum who coincidentally was holding an open day on the Sunday. We managed to get the two machines together after 57 years
