I'm assuming this appliance is NHS 196, - in which case it is actually owned by Bob Wright from Glasgow and not the Strathclyde Fire Brigade Preservation Group although it is often seen at the same events as them

It is indeed NHS 196 and is owned by myself - Bob Wright and not by the Strathclyde Group. Unfortunately this appliance is now barred from attending events the Strathclyde group are organising, the recent Tall Ships event at Greenock and the Fire Engines Through the Ages event at the new Riverside Museum in Glasgow are just a few examples of their pettiness.

This is one of the best F8's around. I had the pleasure of driving it at Preston Hall this year. Curiously it didn't win any prize at this years show, even though it has previously been best overall in show! Strange politics at work me thinks!! I mean you can eat your dinner off the chassis, it's that immaculate. A credit to Bob and his FRIENDS who keep this machine in tip top condition. If only it was allowed to enter more shows, it would certainly win more trophies. Perhaps some people are just jealous!?

On behalf of the organisers of the Preston Hall event, I can assure you there was no politics involved just the combined results of two independent judges taking several areas into consideration! we will have to wait to see what evolves in the future, NHS may well be a winner.
I think previous winners have also been well deserved!

A security measure to prevent people from entering the cab.
