Correct George, this Dennis'D'/Hampshire FB bodywork WrT(as shown in this picture)did serve at one time as 1st pump at Stn A5 Alton, but was originally a WrL.

Hi yes this Dennis D was built in Hampshire w/shops.It was destined to Fawley to cover the oil refinery , but with a 4.2 Jaguar petrol engine a big problam so they move it to alton it now has a Perkins diesel engine. Then going as a reserve before being sold in 1996.

This D series was also available from new with a Perkins 365 diesel six cylinder.

At one time I ran a factory in Belgium building tracked APVs for NATO which had the Jaguar 4.2 engine, and the engine problems we had were horrific.

Not something you want to rely on, whether you are fighting people with guns or fires with water jets either!
