The crew seats are pretty advanced for a 1913 fire pumper, and even look as if they might actually have been a little bit comfortable...Some Braidwood designs had everybody sitting on the hose box without upholstery or a back rest thirty years later! Fire engine design in Portugal was often pretty advanced, and it was one of the first to have fully enclosed units shortly after WWI.
