Austin K2 HrT GLE441 Aug 1981 Duxford
Here is another pic of my GLE441 at Duxford Rally 1981 after spending many hours of restoration on it. It was stationed at Redruth, Cornwall after the war but other records of it are unknown to me. Although not accurate I used quite a lot of Ex LFB bits & pieces namely scaling ladders, ladder mountings, hose ramps, etc. The Ajax was given to me by CFO at BaE Hatfield when I was a Fireman there and originally came off 999UAR Bedford WrT. The TrP is a Beresford Stork on a Coventry Climax trailer. Just goes to show what can be done with limited funds that were available. I sold it 1983/4 to a Fireman at Stevenage who had plans to drive it to Germany, as I found it difficult to find somewhere to keep it. I've seen pics of it since and it still looks good.
