Petworth line up West Sussex

Petworth Fire station, West Sussex, Station 21 on June 24th 2011.
21P1 is Dennis Rapier T363 APO which is now the oldest 1st Away pump in West Sussex (this appliance was new to Henfield, and replaced identical T360 APO at Petworth in December 2006).
L4T Steyr Super G V746FCR is 21M1
Dennis Dagger, one of 2 in West Sussex, HV02 ZZK is 21P2, having moved from 2nd appliance at Shoreham to Petworth in September 2009. It was new to Chichester in 2002. (see picture 23537 also) All 3 appliances have 2 tone hornes, although HV02 ZZK also has an electronic siren, which did not feature in West Sussex before 2002.

T363 APO was new to Worthing

hi
station looks abit small for those three pumps.

Andy, It was T360 APO which was new to Worthing, T363 went to Henfield, but the both served at Petworth, T360 APO initially after being displaced by the first Scania at Worthing in 2004, and then replaced by T363 APO in 2006, with T360 APO going into the reserve fleet. A bit confusing with similar registartion appliances at the same station. Jon

Jon

T363 APO is not just the oldest 1st away pump but the oldest pump allocated to a station. All 2nd pumps are due to be upgraded to Clan Lucas cutting gear over the next few months. There is talk that the Dagger will then be used as the 1st away.

Stuart - indeed, thanks for info about Holmatro being replaced by Clan Lucas on the 2nd pumps, was not aware of that - is there a plan to replace T363 as I was expecting it to disappear, now that there are surplus appliances, that are newer if not better?
Jon.

Jon - The lease on the 2 T & V Reg Rapiers run out in November, I understand the W Reg Rapiers run out early next year also. There is talk that S269 UOW or even an R Reg might come our way to replace the T Reg, if this is the case then the Dagger will certainly become the 1st Pump.

Thanks Stuart - nothing certain then! I see Billingshurst have Littlehamptons old Sabre HX04 WGE replacing their W reg Rapier. Jon.
