What is the reason for Dutch appliances having Amber beacons showing to the rear!

Hi Alan, the amber light is a warning light to warn drivers the fire engine is standing still as a obstacle. They say its saver to put out the blue light at a incident and only show the amber light (and like this unit a traffic advisor.
On motorways its a protocol that the first unit keeps the blue lights on, and all the other units only put on the amber lights. Hopefully this clears your question.

Hi Marcel and Alan!I don´t know how it´s today in Switzerland, but there was a federal law once upon a time.By that law, the F&Rs was not allowed to use the blue emergency ligths at a firescene, or at a RTA!
