In the immediate postwar years quite a lot of US fire trucks were placed into service in the Netherlands, especially Fords with local bodywork.
But this looks like a US truck, which may have been imported by a collector, like the Seagrave parked behind it. Do we know if there were other Wards imported directly in the 1940s, or is this beautiful example a "one-off"?
There are not too many collectors of American fire trucks outside the US, because shipping, restoration and maintainence are a very expensive proposition. All power to those who do!
