Very nice looking and a great shade of red, ours in the uk are not as shiny as they used to be and look slighly scruffy on some stations, I served 28 years in london and ours were always polished to within an inch of their lives and the public expected that, i do like the way the japanese, americans and the europeans use alloy checkerplate, very neat.

Having visited Japan many times on business, I have to say that the people of this interesting country are preoccupied with cleanliness like nowhere else I have ever seen.

Everything is immaculate, from the streets to the railway stations, trains, buses - even the garbage trucks shine!

As for the fire trucks, even their oldest reserve units are always polished up and look like they just left the factory where they were built...

And I too do personally really like the fact that they continue to paint all of their equipment in this glorious shade of red, without any of the stripes, chevrons or fanciful tape decoration which is so popular now in other countries.

The only exception is that some brigades paint a white zigzag stripe or arrow pattern on their rescue trucks, which would otherwise look pretty much identical to their pump appliances.
